Belgrade attractions – One of sightseeing tours takes you to visit the Botanical garden “Jevremovac”, unit of teh Faculty of Biology from University of Belgrade.

It was established in 1874 by the decision of the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Serbia, at the recommendation of the famous Serbian biologist and scientist Josif Pancic – who was the first manager of this institution.

In 1889 the king Milos Obrenovic gave the estate (that he inherited from his grandfather Jevrem) to the Faculty in Belgrade to be used as botanical garden, with the condition to be named “Jevremovac” after his grandfather.

Belgrade attractions – Botanical Garden lies at the same place and under the same name. Belgrade Botanical garden is in the center of the city, takes space of about 5 hectares, with over 340 species of trees, bushes, plants from all around the world, with a total fund over over 1500 units of herbs and plants. Asides from park and open space, it has a greenhouse and premises of the Institute for Botanics.
