Belgrade News – Days of Belgrade – Event “Belgrade days”, celebrates important dates in the city’s history. “Days of Belgrade” will traditionally be commemorated April 16 to 19 with variety of cultural and educational happenings in several locations in Belgrade under the slogan “The rhythm of the city”. Important notice is that this celebration is free of charge for all citizens of Belgrade. During these four days citizens will be able to visit numerous city museums with professional guidance, and attend several musical performances. On the second day of the celebration will be organized a mini festival “Spring in Belgrade” on behalf of the International Days of Jazz.

Belgrade News – This year, among various cultural events (12th “Days of Belgrade”) the Old Court will be open for visitors. In this month is the 130th year since its construction, and on Saturday April 19th it will be welcoming visitors which will be accompanied by a professional tour guide.

Another novelty is the Day of Open museums. Namely, for the first time during the “Days of Belgrade” will be organized a sub event like this, during which most of the museums in the city will be open and free of charge for visitors. Four (4) libraries and eight (8) museums will be constantly working.

Belgrade News – On the occasion of 60 years since the establishment of organized tourism and in Belgrade will be presented the road of development of city tourism on several locations. At the same time, the presentation will show the road of the development of the city. The central event will be held in the Hall of Belgrade Youth on April 16th.

“Days of Belgrade” relate to two important dates. First is April 16th, 878 A.D. when Slavic name “Belgrade” was first mentioned in a letter from Pope John VIII to the Bulgarian Prince Boris; second one is April 19th, 1867 when Turkish commander Ali Riza pasha symbolically handed over keys of the city to Prince Mihailo.

In frame of the “Days of Belgrade”, visitors can get further acquainted with the city history and the spirit of past times in Belgrade by attending five public stage performances, on selected locations of historic relevance.

Belgrade News – Celebration “Days of Belgrade” is organized by the local Belgrade Authorities and Secretariat for Culture in cooperation with Youth Theatre “Dadov” as the chief executive producer.
